Analysis of Optimum Diversity Combining and Decision Feedback Equalization in Dispersive Rayleigh Fading

چکیده

This paper presents a simplified derivation of the structure and performance of the optimum diversity comhiner/decision feedback equalizers, previously derived by Balahan and Salz. O u r analysis is based on fundamental results of linear prediction and estimation theory. New closed-form expressions that benchmark the performance of these receivers in a two-hem slowly Rayleigh fading channel having equal and unequal mean strength paths are provided. The results give insight into the henefits of utilizing space diversity and decision feedback equalization in a frequency-selective fading environment.
